Two-Week-Old Infant Dies in Hospital After Being Found Unresponsive at Home
A two-week-old infant from Acre has died at the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya after being found unresponsive at his home on Thursday morning. Emergency services received a call at 8:37 AM and found the baby without a pulse or breathing. Paramedics performed advanced resuscitation efforts and transported him to the hospital in critical condition, where his death was later pronounced.
The infant had reportedly slept in his parents' bed overnight. Investigators are examining the possibility that he suffocated during sleep. Bruises and bleeding were also found on the baby's body, and the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
MDA paramedics and a volunteer doctor who responded to the scene described the incident as "very difficult." They immediately began CPR, including chest compressions, artificial respiration, and administering medication, before rushing the infant to the hospital's trauma unit while continuing resuscitation efforts.
