Two-Week-Old Infant Dies in Hospital After Being Found Unresponsive at Home
A two-week-old infant from Acre (Akko) has died at the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya after being found unresponsive at his home on Thursday morning. Emergency medical services (Magen David Adom) received a call at 8:37 AM and responded to the residence, where they found the baby without a pulse or breathing. Paramedics performed advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, artificial respiration, and medication, before transporting the infant in critical condition to the hospital. Doctors later pronounced the baby dead.
The infant had reportedly slept in his parents' bed overnight. Investigators are examining the possibility that the baby suffocated during sleep. Bruises and bleeding were also found on the infant's body, and the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation. The MDA team described the incident as "very difficult."
