Maccabi Tel Aviv Ownership Dispute Sees $2.5 Million Lawsuit Filed
The ownership battle for the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club has escalated with Richard Daetz filing a lawsuit seeking approximately $2.5 million in damages. The suit, filed against ENDVR MTA, a company owned by Jason Levin, alleges that recent actions violated a shareholders' agreement. Guy Harel, who served as a mediator in the deal, is also named as a defendant.
Daetz's representatives claim that the actions taken were in breach of the shareholder agreement. The dispute stems from Daetz exercising his right of first refusal to purchase shares from Levin. Subsequently, Shimon Mizrahi, exercising his own right as an original shareholder, blocked the transaction. This specific issue is now subject to arbitration for resolution.
