Maccabi Tel Aviv Ownership Dispute Sees $2.5 Million Lawsuit Filed

The ongoing turmoil surrounding the ownership of Israeli basketball club Maccabi Tel Aviv has escalated with a lawsuit filed by Richard Ditz. Ditz is seeking approximately $2.5 million in damages from ENDVR MTA, a company owned by Jason Levin, and also from Guy Harel, who acted as an intermediary in the transactions.

Ditz's representatives allege that the actions taken by Levin and Harel constitute a breach of shareholder agreements. The lawsuit stems from a series of recent events involving the sale of club shares.

Previously, Ditz exercised his right of first refusal to prevent the sale of shares to Levin. Shortly thereafter, Shimon Mizrahi, a founding shareholder, also invoked his right of first refusal, blocking the transaction. This dispute over share ownership is now headed for arbitration.

The legal battle highlights the complex and contentious nature of the club's ownership situation, which has been a subject of significant attention.
