Securities Authority Director Oded Shpirer to Step Down in December

Oded Shpirer, the Director General of the Israel Securities Authority (ISA), has informed ISA Chairman Sefi Zinger that he will be concluding his tenure in December. Shpirer has served as Director General since 2019, becoming the first to hold the position since its establishment. He joined the ISA in 2001 and held various significant roles, including Deputy Director of the Investigations and Intelligence Department, Director of the Investigations Unit, and the Authority's General Secretary, before his appointment as Director General.

In his current capacity, Shpirer oversees the ISA's ongoing and strategic operations, its annual budget, and human resources and technology management, including emergency preparedness. According to the ISA, during his leadership, Shpirer spearheaded advancements in digitalization, the integration of artificial intelligence tools, streamlined financial and budgetary management, and promoted collaborations and projects.

ISA Chairman Sefi Zinger praised Shpirer as a "cornerstone" of the Authority, crediting him with significantly contributing to its professional and ethical standards and strengthening its position as a modern and innovative organization. Zinger expressed confidence that Shpirer's extensive experience in the capital markets and the ISA will serve him well in his future endeavors.

Shpirer stated that after 25 years with the ISA, he is leaving with mixed feelings of pride and excitement. He described his years at the Authority as a significant professional and personal journey and thanked all those who accompanied him, particularly Chairman Zinger, past chairmen, and the ISA staff, for their partnership in developing the Authority into a leading regulator impacting the lives of all Israelis.
