Legal Advisor's Representative: No Grounds to Disqualify Otzma Yehudit Party
The Central Elections Committee, headed by Judge Solberg, convened on Thursday to discuss requests to disqualify the Otzma Yehudit party and Yair Golan from participating in the upcoming elections. During the hearing, the legal advisor's representative stated that while the evidence against Otzma Yehudit is "very disturbing" and brings the party close to prohibited territory, the line has not yet been crossed, and therefore, their candidacy should not be prevented.
Earlier in the proceedings, a heated confrontation erupted when former Knesset Member Yael German compared Otzma Yehudit to Nazism. Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and MK Tali Gottlieb strongly condemned German's remarks, calling it a "desecration of the Holocaust" and an insult to the six million Jews murdered during that period.
