Settlers Suspected of Arson Attack Near Ramallah, IDF Investigates
Palestinians reported that Israeli settlers set fire to two vehicles and spray-painted graffiti in the village of Atara, north of Ramallah. Among the graffiti was the phrase "Revenge for Laiter," referencing an attack the previous day at a checkpoint on Route 443 where reserve soldier Neria Laiter was injured. Neria Laiter is the son of Israel's Ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Laiter.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that forces would enter the area to collect findings and evidence for the ongoing investigation. The IDF "strongly condemns incidents of this type that divert attention, undermine stability, and harm the operational and counter-terrorism activities of the forces," a spokesperson said.
