A significant incident unfolded behind the scenes at the Hebrew-language i24NEWS channel on Wednesday evening when lead anchor Miri Michaeli, 41, suddenly became unwell and was rushed to the hospital.
Michaeli, who was scheduled to present the main evening news broadcast, felt ill shortly before going live. Her colleague, Michal Ravinovitch, was called in at the last minute to replace her and host the program.
While awaiting medical attention, Michaeli posted a photo on social media showing her connected to an IV drip. She updated viewers and followers, stating, "A bit of a tough day. Improving. Sorry I bailed on you." After several hours of tests and treatment at a medical center, Michaeli was released and sent home, with doctors suspecting a viral infection.
