Israeli Forces Bomb Homes, Target Displaced Gazans Amid Ceasefire Violations

Israeli military forces continued to violate the fragile ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, targeting tents of displaced people and shelters. Simultaneously, homes and buildings were demolished in the eastern areas of Gaza City, with gunfire reported in several parts of the Strip, resulting in casualties among the displaced.

Israeli forces detonated remaining buildings in eastern Gaza City, while tanks fired on multiple locations, continuing to target areas housing displaced individuals. Military vehicles also fired machine guns towards the northeast of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Intense gunfire was also directed at the southern areas of Khan Younis and the vicinity of the Shakoush area in the city's northwest.

Over the past 24 hours, 27 Israeli violations of the truce were recorded, including intense gunfire and artillery shelling. Palestinian data indicates these incidents resulted in the deaths of six displaced individuals and injuries to 15 others.

These developments occur as Israeli violations persist across various areas of the Strip, despite a ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, and accompanying understandings to solidify the truce and implement its subsequent stages. The escalation also comes amid difficulties in implementing understandings related to the second phase of the truce plan, which was reached in July 2026. U.S. President Donald Trump announced on July 31 the achievement of a "new agreement" to begin the second phase of the "road map" for Gaza. However, the ongoing military operations and daily violations leave the truce vulnerable to further deterioration and increase pressure on the path to de-escalation.
