Bonzie Colson Excited for Maccabi Tel Aviv Return Ahead of EuroLeague Season

Bonzie Colson expressed his enthusiasm for his return to Maccabi Tel Aviv and the upcoming EuroLeague season, stating his preparation has given him confidence. After a successful two-year stint with the club under coach Oded Katash, followed by two years at Fenerbahçe, Colson is back in Israel, bringing with him European and Turkish domestic titles.

Ahead of the season opener against LDLC ASVEL, Colson shared his optimism for the team's prospects. "I think it's going to be a great season," he said. "We have tremendous motivation to achieve our goals. We are trying to improve in practice, the preseason was good for us. We are trying to work hard. Our work and what we do in the preseason give us confidence. We just want to be ourselves."

Colson highlighted coach Katash's philosophy of encouraging players to be authentic and play with energy. He conveyed his excitement about returning to the club and the warm reception he has received from fans. "I'm excited to come back here, it's wonderful, I've received nothing but love and support from many fans. I'm happy to play for them."

Regarding the team's new uniforms, Colson mentioned his involvement in the production of the promotional video, along with teammates John DiBartolomeo and Jalen Reynolds. He noted the positive fan reaction and his personal satisfaction with the design. "They are beautiful in my eyes, I, John DiBartolomeo and Jalen Reynolds spent many hours on the production of the video. It's very beautiful, I'm glad it looks good. The fans are happy with it, and in my eyes the uniforms are also beautiful."

Discussing the upcoming opponent, Colson acknowledged the talent of ASVEL's new additions, Patty Mills and Ja'Cquez Ja'Cquez, describing them as experienced veterans. He expressed respect for their abilities and anticipation for the matchup. "Patty Mills and Ja'Cquez Ja'Cquez? These are veterans who have seen everything, Patty has already played in Europe. They are very talented players, I believe they will be able to adapt to Europe. Tony Parker can teach them what they need. We respect them, and I am excited to play against them."
