Israel's Sukkot Holiday Features Diverse Festivals and Family Activities

Israel is offering a wide array of cultural and entertainment events for families during the intermediate days of Sukkot, known as Chol HaMoed. These activities span theater, music, nature exploration, and creative workshops across the country.

Children's theater festivals are a major highlight, including the Yaron Festival at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, featuring plays like "Black Iris Hill" and "Karamel 3." The "Sha'a" Festival at Beit Zioni America will present 15 shows, such as "Gingi" and "Aladdin." In Jaffa, the Yaffo Festival at Jaffa Theatre will showcase theater, circus, and puppet shows in various languages, including accessible performances for children with special needs.

Nature and environmental themes are prominent, with the "Machol Ba'Kfar" festival at Kibbutz Netiv HaLamed Heh focusing on dance, music, and ecological tours. The "Luna Junk" event at the Hiriya recycling center offers a creative carnival using recycled materials, with workshops and tours of the sorting facility. Ramat HaNadiv park will host "Ruach Stav," featuring guided tours of wildlife like butterflies and bats, night safaris, and nature photography workshops.

Further outdoor activities include a sand sculpting competition at Palmahim National Park, with additional nature programs by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority at Apollonia and Tel Lachish National Parks. The Dead Sea area is promoting extreme sports like raider tours and kayaking, alongside family-friendly options.

Musical performances are scheduled for the Tamar Festival at Masada and the Dead Sea, with artists including Ravid Plotnik and Noa Kirel. Jerusalem will host the "Shirat HaUshpizin" poetry festival at the Confederation House, and Rishon LeZion will celebrate Yarden Arzi's birthday with a special show.
