Protester Confronts Israeli Reporter Live on Air in NYC; Anchor Intervenes

A live broadcast from New York City by Kan 11 reporter Shachar Glick was interrupted on Wednesday when a protester approached him during a report on demonstrations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel. The protester began filming Glick with his mobile phone and attempted to engage him in a conversation.

Anchor Ayelet Hasson, from the studio, intervened in the broadcast, instructing Glick on how to respond. The protester, speaking in English, tried to draw Glick into a direct on-camera discussion. Hasson cut into the report, suggesting Glick ask the protester about the slogan "From the river to the sea," a common chant at pro-Palestinian rallies, and whether Qatar was funding him.

Glick then offered the protester the chance to go live on air with Hasson, but a friend intervened and stopped him at the last moment. Hasson advised Glick not to allow the protester to disrupt his report, suggesting he could interview with a different Israeli channel if he sought more attention.

Glick, Kan 11's political correspondent, was reporting on the ongoing protests in the city when the incident occurred.
