Rabid Puppy Found Near West Bank Settlement, Public Urged to Seek Care
The Ministry of Health reported on September 23, 2026, that a puppy infected with rabies was discovered on Road 450 near the settlement of Neve Tzuf (also known as Halamish) in the West Bank. The white puppy with brown spots was observed coming from the direction of the settlement of Nachliel.
To date, one person is known to have had contact with the infected animal. The Ministry of Health is urgently requesting that anyone who came into contact with the puppy or any stray animal in the area between September 9 and September 23, 2026, contact the Ramla Health Bureau at 08-9181202 or their nearest health bureau without an appointment.
Individuals who have been bitten or scratched by an animal are advised to immediately wash the affected area with soap and running water for approximately 10 minutes before seeking medical attention at a health bureau.
