Worker Dies After Falling Iron Cages at Factory in Kiryat Gat
A worker, approximately 40 years old, died on Wednesday after being struck by a load of iron cages that fell on him at a factory in Kiryat Gat. Rescue teams from the "Rescue Union" responded to the scene and provided initial medical treatment, including resuscitation efforts with the assistance of a doctor from the union. Despite these efforts, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.
The police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and have notified representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Labor. According to statistics from the "Worker's Address" association, 52 workers have died and 467 have been injured in work accidents across Israel since the beginning of 2026, with a notable number of fatal incidents occurring in the construction sector.
