Nine Elite Counter-Terrorism Officers Graduate Elite Israeli Police Unit Training

Nine officers have successfully completed an intensive training course for Israel's national counter-terrorism unit, known as YAM. The graduation ceremony took place at the YAM base in central Israel and was attended by Police Commissioner Major General Dani Levi, Border Guard Commander Major General Brik Itzhak, unit commanders, and the graduates' families.

The rigorous nine-month training program began with over a thousand candidates, including combat veterans and special forces members. Only nine individuals persevered through the demanding selection and training process, which focused on counter-terrorism, territorial capture, hostage rescue, and other operational skills.

The YAM unit operates on the front lines of counter-terrorism and leads emergency response efforts. The training is designed to prepare personnel for high-level operations under extreme pressure. During their course, the officers participated in covert and overt operations alongside IDF veterans and completed tasks across various sectors.

Upon receiving their certificates, the new YAM officers officially joined the Israeli police's counter-terrorism division. Police Commissioner Levi praised the graduates' professionalism and the importance of their training for citizen security. Border Guard Commander Itzhak emphasized the significance of reinforcing the unit given the current security situation, expressing confidence in the new recruits.
