Liberman Proposes Jordan Administer West Bank Areas; Netanyahu Rejects
Avigdor Liberman, head of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, has proposed assigning responsibility for managing parts of the West Bank to Jordan. He stated this would require reaching understandings with Amman regarding the administration of Areas A and B, and assuming security and administrative responsibility within them.
Liberman explained in an interview with the "BeSheva" newspaper that he is unsure if Jordan would deploy its forces into these areas or establish local units. However, he believes the Palestinian issue is more pressing for Jordan than for Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly criticized Liberman's remarks. In a post on the "X" platform, Netanyahu stated that Liberman is proposing "Jordanian army control over Israeli territory" and demanded that Liberman "return immediately."
