Ofer Winter Slams Lieberman's Plan to Cede West Bank Security to Jordan

Ofer Winter, chairman of the "Am Israel" party, has sharply criticized the proposal by Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu, to transfer security and administrative responsibility in Areas A and B of the West Bank to Jordan. Winter questioned the logic of allowing a foreign army into "our territory," asking, "Have we gone mad?"

Winter linked Lieberman's proposal to the recent speech by Jordan's King Abdullah II at the UN General Assembly. The King had strongly criticized Israel, describing events in the West Bank as "forced displacement" and a "war crime," and labeling the Israeli government's "expansionist appetite" as a regional threat.

"Yvet, you're confused," Winter stated, directly addressing Lieberman. He emphasized that the sole entity responsible for Israel's security between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea must be the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Winter warned that any alternative approach is part of a "dangerous concept that will bring us another October 7th, this time from Judea and Samaria."
