Settler Violence Escalates Across West Bank, Targeting Palestinians and Property
Settler attacks intensified across multiple West Bank governorates on Wednesday, with Palestinians, their vehicles, property, and agricultural lands becoming targets. These assaults occurred amid alleged protection and support from Israeli forces. In the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, settlers raided the village of Deir Dibwan, firing live ammunition at residents. Near Raba village, southeast of Jenin, settlers engaged in similar provocations. In southern Nablus, settlers extensively bulldozed approximately 40 dunams of olive groves in the Ras Zeit area, adjacent to a pastoral outpost, destroying agricultural land and livelihoods. Armed settlers also attacked the outskirts of the towns of Beita and Qusra.
In Qalqilya Governorate, settlers hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles near the Kafr Laqf roundabout, causing material damage. In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, settlers raided the Khirbet Aqawis area at dawn, vandalizing property belonging to residents Nael and Talib al-Nu'aimin. They also chased and assaulted Palestinian laborers before setting fire to one of their vehicles near Umm Qassa village in the Badia of Yatta.
In the northern Jordan Valley, settler groups prevented Palestinian shepherds from accessing natural pastures and surrounded Bedouin communities. These attacks are part of a continuous wave targeting Palestinians, their lands, and property. Warnings have been issued regarding the establishment of new outposts and the alteration of the ground reality, particularly in agricultural and pastoral areas.
According to data from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 2,030 attacks against Palestinians, their lands, and property in the West Bank and Jerusalem during August. Of these, 628 attacks were perpetrated by settlers. In August alone, settler attacks resulted in the death of one boy and injuries to 164 Palestinians, in addition to significant damage to Palestinian property and land.
