Tali Gottlieb Demands Justice Ministry, Criticizes Yair Golan

Member of Knesset Tali Gottlieb stated on Wednesday during an interview with Radio Galey Yisrael that she is demanding to be appointed as the next Justice Minister. Gottlieb asserted that a "terrible procedure" currently contradicts the law, requiring the Attorney General's approval to investigate incitement and sedition offenses. She declared that the law supersedes this procedure and that she would instruct the Attorney General to cancel it within a week, or she would revoke his authority.

Gottlieb also strongly criticized Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan for his recent remarks. "How can it be that a person like Yair Golan says that a sane country does not kill babies as a hobby, and he is not behind bars? Why was he not taken for investigation? This is why I need to be Justice Minister," she stated.

This comes as the Otzma Yehudit party, led by Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, announced its intention to seek key ministerial portfolios in the next government, specifically the Defense and Justice ministries. According to Ben-Gvir's statement, he would seek the Defense portfolio, while MK Tali Gottlieb would be appointed Justice Minister. The party also outlined key policy initiatives they intend to advance if granted these positions.
