Argentine President Receives 'Israel Lover' Award in NYC Ahead of UN Speech

Argentine President Javier Milei visited the "Darchei Torah" yeshiva in New York on Tuesday as part of his U.S. trip before addressing the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations. During his visit, Milei spoke to the students and was presented with the "Israel Lover" award by the institution's management in recognition of his support for Israel and the Jewish people.

The visit to the yeshiva was part of Milei's schedule in New York, where he arrived ahead of his address to the UN General Assembly. He was scheduled to speak on Wednesday and later attend a conference on Western values, economic freedom, and strategic security.

Milei, known for his deep connection to biblical texts, has stated in a recent interview that he draws inspiration from the Book of Exodus, calling it the most important liberation story in human history. He has also drawn parallels between the biblical figures of Moses and Aaron confronting Pharaoh to modern-day struggles against superpowers.

Later on Wednesday, Milei was expected to meet with business figures and conclude his day with a meeting with Chabad influencer Rabbi Simon Jacobson. A meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was scheduled for Thursday afternoon, following Milei's UN address. After their meeting, Milei was slated to attend a meeting of Latin American leaders alongside Netanyahu.
