Israeli Soccer League Fines Players for Various Offenses

Players in Israel's top soccer league, Ligat Ha'al, face a "price list" of fines for various infractions, as revealed on the sports program "Yatzi'a Le'itonut - Shlishi BaKoterot." These fines are stipulated in an addendum that players sign at the demand of the Football Association.

According to reporter Ran Boker, a player can be fined up to 50% of their monthly salary, not exceeding NIS 20,000, for unjustified absence from a game. Other penalties include fines of up to NIS 8,000 for excessive or extreme sports activities, or refusal to be examined by a team doctor or psychologist.

Further fines include up to NIS 8,000 for prohibited contact with journalists, which covers leaks or unauthorized statements. Players can also be fined up to NIS 4,000 for unjustified lateness to a game, receiving a second yellow card for provocation, or missing training without justification. A yellow card for provocation incurs a fine of up to NIS 2,000, and lateness to training can result in a fine of up to NIS 2,000.

Additionally, the Football Association reserves the right to impose an "administrative fine" of up to NIS 750 on players.
