Becali stated, "I'm tired of betting on players. We will strengthen the midfield." He indicated a willingness to spend between 3 to 4 million euros on new signings, a substantial increase from previous investments.

This strategic pivot comes amid speculation about the future of Israeli midfielder Ofir Arad, who currently occupies the defensive midfield position. Arad joined Steaua Bucharest after a successful stint with Kazakhstan's Kairat but has yet to make a significant impact at the Romanian club. Reports from Romania suggest Steaua is planning a major overhaul and is actively seeking a high-caliber player for the defensive midfield role, potentially signaling an exit for Arad.

One player reportedly considered is Liridon Emërllahu, a midfielder for Ukrainian club Polissya Zhytomyr, valued at approximately 2 million euros according to Transfermarkt. While Arad's departure is not yet confirmed, the club's stated intentions to reinforce the position do not bode well for his future at Steaua Bucharest.
