Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona Basketball Signs G-League Guard A.J. Walker
Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona basketball club has reached an agreement with American guard A.J. Walker, who is expected to arrive in Israel by the end of the week. The 28-year-old, standing at 1.96 meters, joins the team as they continue to build their roster for the upcoming 2026-27 Israeli Basketball Premier League season. This signing comes shortly after the team secured a spot in the Winner Cup quarterfinals with a 75-84 victory over Maccabi Rishon LeZion.
Walker brings a varied international and domestic basketball background. He played four seasons at Florida State University, achieving his best collegiate numbers in the 2020-21 season with 12.2 points per game. Since then, he has primarily played in the NBA G League, making two appearances in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns. His career also includes stints in Canada, the French league, and New Zealand.
Last season, Walker played for the Atlanta Hawks' G League affiliate, averaging 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game over 35 appearances. He shot 38.5% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range in the G League during the 2025-26 season.
