Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona Basketball Signs G-League Guard A.J. Walker
Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona basketball club has reached an agreement with American guard A.J. Walker, who is expected to arrive in Israel by the end of the week. The 28-year-old, standing at 1.96 meters, joins the team as they continue to build their roster for the upcoming 2026-27 Israeli Basketball Premier League season, following their recent advancement to the Winner Cup quarterfinals with an 84-75 victory over Maccabi Rishon LeZion.
Walker brings a varied career to Be'er Sheva-Dimona. He played four seasons at Florida State University, achieving his best collegiate numbers in his final year, 2020-21, with 12.2 points per game. Since then, he has primarily played in the NBA G League, with brief stints in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns. His international experience includes playing in Canada, France, and New Zealand.
Last season, Walker played for the Atlanta Hawks' G League affiliate, averaging 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. In the 2025-26 G League season, he appeared in 35 games, shooting 38.5% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
