Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona Basketball Signs G-League Guard A.J. Walker
Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona, a basketball team competing in Israel's Premier League, has reached an agreement with American guard A.J. Walker. The 28-year-old, standing at 1.96 meters, is expected to arrive in Israel by the end of the week. This signing comes shortly after the team secured a spot in the Winner Cup quarterfinals with a victory over Maccabi Rishon LeZion.
Walker brings a diverse playing history, including four seasons at Florida State University, where he achieved his best collegiate statistics in the 2020-21 season with 12.2 points per game. He has also had brief stints in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns and played in various international leagues, including France and New Zealand, as well as Canada.
Most recently, Walker played for the Atlanta Hawks' G-League affiliate during the 2023-24 season. In 35 games, he averaged 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game, shooting 38.5% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
The team continues to build its roster for the upcoming 2026-27 Premier League season.
