Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona Signs Young Scorer Shahar Doron for Upcoming Basketball Season

Hapoel Be'er Sheva/Dimona has officially signed 21-year-old basketball player Shahar Doron as part of its roster build-up for the upcoming Israeli Basketball Premier League season. After a delayed start to assembling its squad, the southern team has accelerated its recruitment efforts in recent days, culminating in Doron's acquisition.

Doron, standing 1.95 meters tall, is a product of Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth system and has gained experience in the Premier League playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Elitzur Netanya, Hapoel Galil Elyon, and Maccabi Ra'anana. Last season, he averaged 3.4 points during the regular season and increased his output to 9.7 points in relegation battles. He has also been a standout player for Israel's youth national teams.

At the 2023 U18 European Championship, Doron led Israel with 20 points per game, along with 4.1 rebounds and 4 assists, earning a spot on the tournament's second all-star team. Over the past two years, he has also been part of the U20 national team, posting 12 points and 3.4 rebounds per game at the 2025 U20 European Championship. The club and player hope this move will secure Doron a more central role in the top-tier league after a challenging previous season.
