Air Force Sergeant Arrested for Sexual Offenses Against Subordinates

A sergeant in the Israeli Air Force was arrested approximately a week and a half ago on suspicion of committing severe sexual offenses against two of his female subordinates. The incidents reportedly occurred in recent weeks.

Following complaints filed by the soldiers to the Military Police Investigation Unit (MPID), an investigation was launched, leading to the sergeant's arrest. His detention has been extended until October 1, and an indictment is expected to be filed against him soon.

The Military Advocate General's Corps has received the findings of the investigation, and the Military Court has extended the suspect's remand. The MPID is reportedly concentrating its efforts on handling complaints of sexual offenses.

In response, the IDF Spokesperson stated, "The IDF views any sexual offense very seriously and will continue to act decisively to prosecute every such incident. Support and guidance personnel from the Yo'alam unit are accompanying the victims from the reporting stage and are available to them as needed."

Since the start of the war, the IDF has observed a significant increase in the severity of sexual offenses within the military, with a notable rise in the involvement of career soldiers.
