Air Force Sergeant Arrested for Alleged Sexual Offenses Against Subordinates

A sergeant in the Israeli Air Force was arrested approximately ten days ago on suspicion of committing severe sexual offenses against two of his female subordinates. The incidents reportedly occurred in recent weeks.

Following complaints filed by the two soldiers to the Military Police (MP), an investigation was launched. The sergeant was apprehended as part of this investigation. His detention has been extended until October 1st, and a military indictment is expected to be filed against him soon.

The military police investigation has concluded, and its findings have been transferred to the Military Advocate General's Corps. A military court extended the suspect's remand until October 1st, with an indictment anticipated shortly thereafter.

According to the IDF, there has been a significant increase in the severity of sexual offenses within the military since the start of the war, with a notable rise in the involvement of career soldiers. The IDF spokesperson stated, "The IDF views any sexual offense very seriously and will continue to act decisively to prosecute every such incident." Support and guidance personnel from the Yo'alam unit are assisting the victims from the reporting stage onwards.
