Toddler Injured by Falling Wood Panel During Sukkot Preparations
A one-year-old baby girl sustained moderate injuries on Tuesday after a wooden panel fell on her head at her home in Bnei Brak. The incident occurred while her family was preparing to build a sukkah, a temporary hut used during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. The family was reportedly removing wooden planks from an attic when one panel dislodged and fell approximately 2.5 meters, striking the infant.
Emergency medical teams from United Hatzalah responded to the scene and provided initial treatment. The baby was then transported by ambulance to the trauma unit at Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus in Petah Tikva, where her condition was described as moderate.
United Hatzalah paramedics who treated the child stated that the wooden panel fell from the attic while the family was engaged in sukkah construction. They reiterated the importance of safety precautions during sukkah building to prevent unnecessary accidents, especially with the holiday approaching.
