Rabbi of Ashlag Leads Followers to Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai's Tomb
On the occasion of the yahrzeit (anniversary of passing) of Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag, known as the Baal HaSulam, thousands of Hasidim visited his tomb at Har HaMenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem. The current Rebbe of Ashlag, Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh Alter, known as the 'Bnei Hichla', led a procession of his followers to the tomb late Friday night.
During the pilgrimage, Rabbi Alter conducted a ceremony concluding the study of the Zohar, the foundational work of Kabbalah, which was studied at the Chatzot yeshiva in the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. The event was documented by Meir Edri, who presented a photo gallery of the Hasidim's gathering.
