Police Arrest Teen for 'Suspicious' Online Chat, 'I am a Terrorist' Message
Police in Ramat Gan arrested a 16-year-old Bedouin youth on Tuesday morning for making suspicious statements during an online conversation. Officers from the Bnei Brak station located and apprehended the teenager, who was taken for questioning. Authorities suspect the youth posted content of a terroristic nature online and sent a message to a police chatbot stating, "I am a terrorist."
The arrest occurred as security forces continue to thwart planned attacks. On Monday, following the deadly shooting at Ein Buvin in the Benjamin region where Natanel Sharoni was killed, the IDF reported that Duvdevan unit soldiers, led by the Shin Bet, arrested two Hamas-affiliated operatives in Qabatiya. These individuals were allegedly planning an imminent attack. The Shin Bet identified the suspects and dispatched the Duvdevan unit to apprehend them for further investigation. This arrest is part of a series of thwarted attacks in recent weeks, during which several terrorists and local cells planning immediate attacks have been detained.
