Five Suspects Arrested for Burglaries During Yom Kippur in Tel Aviv

Police in Tel Aviv's Lev station thwarted several burglary attempts during the Yom Kippur holiday, arresting five suspects in four separate incidents. The police conducted proactive operations targeting property criminals who sought to exploit the holiday for criminal activity against businesses and residents.

In one incident, officers responded to a report of a break-in at a cafe on Hayarkon Street. Within a short time, police located two Tel Aviv residents in their 20s riding a scooter nearby. Stolen property, including two laptops, was recovered from their possession. In another case, a resident of Sakhnin in his 30s was arrested as he exited a liquor store carrying over ten bottles of alcohol valued at hundreds of shekels.

During the holiday, police also responded to a report of a burglary at an apartment on Balfour Street. Officers quickly apprehended a resident of Lod in his 30s, finding the apartment owner's bicycle and cash in his possession. In a fourth incident, a resident from the Mateh Binyamin region in his 40s was caught inside a restaurant on Rothschild Boulevard while attempting to hide from responding officers.

All suspects were taken for questioning at the Lev Tel Aviv station, and the detention of some has already been extended by the court.
