Around 130 World Leaders Convene for UN General Assembly Session
Approximately 130 heads of state are arriving in New York to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the assembly today, immediately following Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is slated to speak on Wednesday, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will deliver his address on Thursday around 9:00 PM Israel time. Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is also expected to speak on Thursday via video link, after his entry into the United States was reportedly denied. The week will be busy with international political meetings on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
