World Leaders Convene in New York for UN General Assembly Session
Approximately 130 heads of state are traveling to New York to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The week will be packed with international political meetings on the sidelines of the assembly.
U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly today, immediately following Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, adhering to the tradition where Brazil speaks first, followed by the United States. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is slated to speak on Wednesday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will deliver his address on Thursday around 9:00 PM Israel time. Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is also expected to speak on Thursday, though his address will be via video link as his entry into the United States was reportedly denied.
