Israeli Forces Intensify West Bank Operations with Raids, Arrests, and Checkpoints

Israeli forces conducted widespread raids and searches across the West Bank and East Jerusalem on Tuesday, arresting and detaining Palestinians and questioning them in the field. The operations included the use of live ammunition and restrictions on Palestinian movement, with the Ramallah governorate remaining under siege for the third consecutive day.

In the Jenin governorate, Israeli forces raided the village of Marka, searched homes, and deployed troops. They also entered the Harsh Al-Saada area in Jenin city, firing live rounds, and raided homes in Arraba town and the village of Arabuna.

In Tubas, forces entered the city and searched a home, while in Nablus, the Sawiya town gate to the south was closed. In Ramallah, forces fired live ammunition and stopped vehicles at the Al-Mahalel checkpoint west of the city. They also raided the town of Silwad northeast of Ramallah, following an attack by settlers on its outskirts, which young Palestinians confronted. During the Silwad raid, Israeli forces fired live rounds and sound grenades, and also raided the village of Deir Abu Mishel northwest of Ramallah.

These incursions were accompanied by tightened military measures in several areas of the Ramallah governorate, including raids on Al-Mazra'a Al-Sharqiya village and the establishment of a checkpoint at the Mazra'a junction, causing traffic jams. Another checkpoint was set up at the Al-Mahalel gate near Ni'lin, leading to severe traffic congestion.

In Tulkarm, forces raided the Al-Salam roundabout and Far'on street, firing live ammunition, searching shops, and detaining and questioning several young men. In Jenin, Israeli forces continued to install iron gates at the entrances of several villages and junctions, including Al-Jalama, Arana, Deir Abu Da'if, Abba, Umm Al-Tout, and Qabatiya, as well as the industrial zone and near the Arab American University. The University roundabout was closed, and gates were placed on the bypass road, hindering movement between villages.

In Bethlehem, forces raided the town of Taqou' in the southeast, and in Hebron, forces raided the city. These actions coincide with settler attacks in several areas and increased restrictions on Palestinian movement, exacerbating daily difficulties and disrupting Palestinian lives.
