Chief Rabbi Isaac Yosef Leads Yom Kippur Prayers and Rituals at Jerusalem Yeshiva

Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef spent Yom Kippur at the 'Chazon Ovadia' yeshiva in Jerusalem, which he heads. The yeshiva, led by his son Rabbi Rachamim Yosef, hosted prayers, penitential services, and the concluding 'Ne'ilah' service throughout the holy day.

Following the Ne'ilah service and the blowing of the shofar, Rabbi Yosef led the yeshiva students outside for the 'Birkat Hachama' (Blessing of the Moon) ceremony, accompanied by singing and spiritual uplift. This annual blessing is recited on the first night of Rosh Chodesh Nissan, but in this instance, it was performed on the night following Yom Kippur, likely due to the specific circumstances of the yeshiva's observance.

After the moon blessing, the participants returned to the yeshiva's main hall. Rabbi Yosef then conducted the Havdalah ceremony, marking the end of the Sabbath and the holy day. During the ceremony, he offered blessings for a good final sealing and a blessed year to the yeshiva students and the general public.
