Slain Israeli Father of Six Buried in West Bank Settlement

Natanel (Nati) Sakron, who was killed in a shooting attack in the Benjamin region earlier this week, was laid to rest on Monday in the cemetery of Eli Zahav, a settlement in the West Bank. Hundreds of people attended the funeral to bid farewell to Sakron, a father of six and a high-tech worker.

Sakron was at a spring near Benjamin with his eldest son, Yoav, on the eve of Yom Kippur to immerse himself before the fast. A terrorist opened fire on his vehicle, but his son was unharmed. An IDF soldier at the scene returned fire, and the terrorist fled. Approximately three hours later, the wounded terrorist was apprehended in a Ramallah hospital, where he had taken himself for treatment.

During the funeral, Sakron's wife, Merav, eulogized him, speaking about their life together and their family. She described him as a devoted family man who honored his parents and was deeply involved with his children. She thanked him for his bravery, noting that he saw Yoav during the attack. Merav also asked for his forgiveness, acknowledging that she was not perfect.

His son Yoav also spoke, thanking his father for the 16 years they had together and for saving his life during the attack. "Thank you for giving me life," Yoav said.

The community of Eli Zahav issued a statement mourning Sakron, calling him a "beloved friend" who was kind, humble, and loved. They described him as a devoted husband to Merav and father to their six children, noting that the family is deeply rooted in the community and that the community will support Merav and the children.
