The Haifa District Attorney’s Office has indicted 26-year-old Muhammad Mahajna from Umm al-Fahm over the attack on a 15-year-old boy. According to the indictment, the teenager made a remark about Mahajna’s appearance while both were at a supermarket in the city, and the exchange escalated into an argument.
Later, prosecutors say, Mahajna lay in wait for the boy in an alley near his home, carrying a knife. He then pounced on the teenager, strangled him, and stabbed him several times in the back.
Mahajna is charged with aggravated assault with intent to cause serious injury, assaulting a minor causing actual bodily harm, possession of a knife, and making threats. The prosecution has asked the court to keep him in detention until the end of the criminal proceedings.
