IDF Chief of Staff Visits Shooting Attack Site, Vows Action

The Israeli military's Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi, visited the scene of a shooting attack near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin Regional Brigade area on Thursday. He conducted a situation assessment, tour, and initial debriefing with senior commanders from the Central Command, Judea and Samaria Division, the Israeli Police's Judea and Samaria District, and the Shin Bet security agency.

Kochavi stated that the IDF is on high alert, deployed with reinforced forces across all fronts, including during the upcoming fast day. "Our mission is clear and continues: to thwart terror, act decisively against any threat, and protect the citizens of the State of Israel," he said.

Following the assessment, the Chief of Staff ordered a closure of the Palestinian village, an ongoing manhunt for those who aided the attacker, and the sealing and demolition of the terrorist's home. "This is a severe attack, and I send our condolences to the victim's family from here," Kochavi said. "We quickly closed the circle, the despicable terrorist was captured by IDF forces. Our mission is not over, we will impose a closure on the village, conduct investigations, and thereby reach everyone who assisted the terrorist."

The IDF announced that the terrorist responsible for the attack was apprehended by Israeli forces shortly after the incident. The military is continuing its pursuit of accomplices who assisted the assailant.
