Israel Delivers SPYDER Air Defense System to NATO Member Czech Republic

Israel's SPYDER air defense system, developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, was delivered to the Czech Republic this week during "NATO Days," a major European security and defense event. The Czech Republic selected the system in 2021 through an intergovernmental agreement led by Israel's Ministry of Defense. This marked the first time a NATO member nation acquired a complete, end-to-end air defense system from Israel. Under the agreement, the Czech Republic purchased four SPYDER batteries. Two are already in the country, and production of all batteries has been completed. The systems were customized to meet the Czech Army's operational requirements and NATO standards, with plans to integrate them into a comprehensive air defense network for Czech airspace. The Ministry of Defense highlighted that the deal signifies an deepening security partnership between the two nations, underscoring the importance of defense exports for strengthening the IDF's capabilities, advancing foreign policy objectives, and fostering growth in Israel's defense industries and economy.
