Rafael Successfully Tests Advanced SPYDER Air Defense System with Direct Hit Capability
Rafael Advanced Defense Systems announced the successful completion of a test for its SPYDER air defense system in Israel. The trial involved multiple successful interceptions of various threats, including low radar signature unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), a significant challenge for current air defense technologies. SPYDER is currently deployed in several countries, including NATO and European Union members. European interest has increased recently, with Romania selecting SPYDER for a major air defense enhancement deal, following the Czech Republic’s 2020 supply agreement with Rafael and the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Rafael views these contracts as endorsements of SPYDER’s capabilities against evolving aerial threats.
