Ovad Buzaglo's Father Defends Son's Hospitalization, Slams Critics

Yaakov Buzaglo, father of former footballer Ohad Buzaglo, has publicly defended his son's decision to voluntarily admit himself to the Abarbanel Medical Center, a psychiatric hospital. Ohad Buzaglo had recently announced his hospitalization, prompting a wave of reactions online.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Yaakov Buzaglo addressed the criticism, stating, "Before you laugh at Ohad, before you slander my family, look at yourselves for a moment." He expressed pride in his son's honesty, saying, "I am not ashamed. On the contrary. I am proud. Proud of my family and will continue to be proud of it, through good and bad."

Buzaglo emphasized that his son chose to share his struggles openly, viewing it as an important message against hiding life's difficulties to appear perfect. He noted that some negative comments seemed directed at him personally due to his political views, specifically his self-identification as a "proud leftist."

"You saw a joke, I saw a person who chose to be real," Yaakov Buzaglo wrote. "Thank you to everyone who waited for an opportunity to slander me and my family. You only strengthen me and remind me why I continue to say what I think and am not afraid of anyone."

He concluded by reflecting on the universality of family struggles, stating, "Remember one simple thing: there is no family without difficult moments." He asserted that the Buzaglo family is united and real, not perfect, and that Ohad knows he has his family's unwavering support through all of life's challenges.
