Israel’s Health Ministry said on Tuesday that another person is suspected of having Ebola after returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo two days earlier. The patient developed fever, headache and diarrhea and is being treated in isolation at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer.
Test results are expected in the coming days. The ministry is also carrying out an epidemiological investigation to identify anyone who may have been in contact with the patient.
Officials stressed that Ebola is not spread through the air, but through direct contact with a symptomatic patient. The ministry urged people to avoid nonessential travel to Congo and Uganda, and asked anyone who returned from those areas and develops symptoms within 21 days to contact health authorities.
