Yeshiva Student Bitten by Snake at School in Ashdod

A 17-year-old yeshiva student was bitten on the hand by a snake in the courtyard of the 'Me'orot Shmuel' yeshiva on Mishmar HaYarden Street in Ashdod. Emergency medical teams from the United Hatzalah organization responded quickly to the scene.

Paramedic Tal Flex and paramedics Dor Friedman and Gabriel Momko provided the young man with initial life-saving medical treatment at the scene. "We were told that the young man was bitten on the hand by a snake in the yeshiva courtyard," said the medical team. "After the initial treatment we provided him in the field, we evacuated him in a United Hatzalah intensive care unit to continue receiving medical treatment at the hospital. He was fully conscious and his condition was defined as stable."

Details regarding the type of snake or the student's updated condition at the hospital were not immediately available. Rescue organizations reiterated that in the event of a snakebite, the victim should remain completely at rest, avoid moving the affected limb, and not attempt to suck out the venom or apply a tourniquet. Instead, emergency services should be called immediately.
