Former Education Ministry Director-General Ben-Zion (Bentsi) Dell Dies at 86
Ben-Zion (Bentsi) Dell, a veteran educator and lawyer who served as Director-General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport, passed away Saturday morning at the age of 86. Dell dedicated decades to the field of education and held numerous public positions throughout his career.
He served as Director-General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport from 1996 to 1999, during which time Zevulun Hammer was the Minister of Education. Prior to that, in 1990, Hammer appointed Dell as the Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Education.
Dell resided in the community of Nehalim for many years, and his funeral is scheduled for Saturday night at midnight in Nehalim. Due to the proximity of Yom Kippur, the traditional seven-day mourning period, known as Shiva, will conclude Sunday afternoon.
