Former Education Ministry Director-General Bentzi Dell Dies at 86

Bentzi Dell, a former Director-General of the Ministry of Education and chairman of the administrative board of the Givat Washington College, passed away at the age of 86. Dell, a graduate of Yeshivat Hadarom, began his career in education as a youth leader in Bnei Akiva in Tel Aviv. He progressed through various roles, including school principal in Petah Tikva, before moving to the Ministry of Education in the early 1970s.

At the ministry, Dell served as an assistant to the Deputy Minister and later as director of the development department in the 1980s. During Zevulun Hammer's tenure as Education Minister, Dell was appointed acting Deputy Director-General. He ultimately served as the Director-General of the Ministry of Education from 1996 to 1999.

Following his public service, Dell took on leadership roles in several religious organizations, including chairing the administrative board of Givat Washington College and the Mizmor School of Music. In 2012, he chaired theפקד committee for the Jewish Home party's primaries. His funeral was scheduled to take place on the night of the article's publication, with the family observing the traditional seven-day mourning period starting Sunday in Nechalim.
