Police from the Ashdod station, together with fighters from the Etgar unit, carried out a focused operation in recent days that led to the arrest of four Palestinian suspects, residents of the territories, who are allegedly linked to several car theft incidents in the city.
The arrests were made as part of the ongoing fight against property crime and the wave of vehicle thefts affecting Ashdod. After reports of stolen cars were received, investigators and detectives opened a fast, targeted inquiry. They collected evidence, carried out intelligence work, and used advanced technological tools to identify the suspects and locate them quickly.
The four suspects were taken to the Ashdod police station for questioning about their role in the incidents. Police said they are continuing to gather evidence and conduct additional investigative steps in order to bring everyone involved to justice.
Ashdod station commander Lt. Cmdr. Ronen Amram said the police and Etgar fighters acted “with determination, professionalism and full cooperation” to reach the suspects and arrest them quickly. He said fighting property offenders and car theft is a top priority, and that police will keep using every available tool to protect residents and their property. Israel Police also said it will continue to act against property crime with zero tolerance and will release further updates as they become available.
