Police from Tel Aviv’s Lev station arrested four suspects in four separate break-ins during a targeted weekend operation against property crime in the Yarkon district. In one case, officers caught a suspect in the act filling a suitcase with valuable equipment inside an office in central Tel Aviv. The arrests were part of a proactive effort aimed at stopping burglaries of businesses and vehicles.
The most notable arrest happened late Saturday night, when a man from Yavne in his 40s was detained inside an office on Hashmonaim Street in central Tel Aviv. Police said he was found packing expensive items into a suitcase when patrol officers arrived and arrested him at the scene.
In another incident that same night, a 37-year-old resident of Kiryat Ekron was arrested after allegedly breaking into a restaurant on Levontin Street and stealing expensive bottles of alcohol. Officers found him shortly afterward near the area, along with evidence that investigators say links him to the offense.
Police also arrested two suspects in vehicle break-ins. On Thursday, a man in his 30s from Bat Yam was detained after allegedly breaking into a scooter parked on Lilienblum Street in Tel Aviv. The day before, on Wednesday, a foreign national in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of breaking into a car on Hahashmal Street. All four suspects were taken for questioning, later jailed, and are expected to appear in court. Police said the focused campaign against property offenses will continue.
