IDF Strikes Gaza, Lebanon; Hamas Health Official's Son Among Dead
The Israeli military (IDF) conducted strikes in Gaza and Lebanon on Saturday, resulting in multiple fatalities. In Gaza, two individuals were killed by IDF strikes in the northern and central parts of the Gaza Strip. Additionally, a girl who was injured the previous day died in hospital, according to Palestinian sources. Basir al-Bursh, son of the director-general of the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry in Gaza, was killed in the Jabalia refugee camp. Another Palestinian died from a drone strike in Shuja'iyya. The IDF has not yet commented on the Gaza strikes.
In response to an explosive device detonating on an IDF engineering vehicle in the security zone in southern Lebanon, which lightly wounded two IDF soldiers, the IDF attacked Hezbollah infrastructure in the area. The IDF stated that it targeted observation posts and facilities used by Hezbollah for planning and executing attacks against Israeli forces.
