IDF Forces Push Back Lebanese Army From Lebanon Security Zone
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that its forces operating in a security zone in southern Lebanon encountered several Lebanese army soldiers who had established checkpoints without prior coordination and in violation of existing agreements. According to an IDF statement, Israeli forces pushed back the Lebanese soldiers after they refused to withdraw despite explanations provided.
Lebanon, however, stated that the position had been occupied on September 10 with the approval of the Lebanon Coordination Group. The Lebanese claim the purpose was to escort local residents while they inspected their agricultural lands.
